Brief History
PT. Bumi International Tankers (BIT) is a member of the Bumi Laut Group of Companies in Indonesia, a well-established and dynamic growing business enterprise, one of the oldest shipping companies in Indonesia whose origins traces back to 1922 when its first office was opened in the Port of Belawan, North Sumatera, Indonesia, which was at one time the largest natural commodity exporting port of Indonesia.
Bumi Laut Group owns, manages, operates and acts as an agent for various types and sizes of vessels such as bulk carriers, container carriers, oil tankers, floating storage offloading, offshore vessels, tugs and barges, etc.

What We Do
We are actively involved in energy transportation and shipping services of oil, coal and other bulk as well as bagged cargoes, which include shipment of millions of tons of coal, copper concentrate, copper slag, fertiliser, cement , steel products, wood pulp, agricultural products, etc., utilising various types and sizes of vessels, annually under its operation and control.
Bumi International Tankers is a company that is actively and dynamically developing the shipping business with its main activites in the fields of Ownership, Operation, Management and other related activities.

What We Do
Bumi International Tankers is involved in the transport of petroleum products for distribution throughout Indonesia with its own modern double-skinned and tailor-made Tanker Fleet which are on long term time charter to PERTAMINA, the State-owned Oil and Gas Corporation of Indonesia.
BIT is pursuing further expansion by acquiring more tankers for the requirement of PERTAMINA, especially to fill in the requirement of the recently implemented Cabotage Law, which creates more opportunities for Indonesian National Shippingcompanies to develop their business and grow their fleet.
Bumi International Tankers is a company that is actively and dynamically developing the shipping business with its main activites in the fields of Ownership, Operation, Management and other related activities.
